I share your pain.
I think we are soul sisters. I am 39, married, and living in Mississippi although I am originally from FL.
I had two cats and my Circe passed away in 2002. She was 14 and I now have my Gator, who will be 15 this April. My husband, son and I have a dog and fish as well but my cats hold a special place in my heart.
I love dolls (not just dollfies), anime, movies, and books. I love period pieces and foreign movies, and I have a dollhouse, too. (Did you see Elizabeth I is going to be a series on HBO in April with Helen Mirren as Elizabeth?)
I’ve read almost all of your posts and viewed the photos. I find your commentary, whether on dolls or society, movies or books, or the minutae of daily life, interesting, informative, and comforting. I, too, suffer from anxiety and depression and am on Lexapro, which has been a godsend. I also have an underactive thyroid so that lends itself to more misery, but in all, life is good. I am a freelance writer and editor in my spare time, too.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that your site and posts are a bright spot in my day and I always look forward to a new post and/or new photos.
Thanks for writing ^_^ I’m certainly glad and humbled to be anybodies bright spot!
Also, I am about to post about the Liz I series today… I’m so excited! Woot!
I have to second so much of what Laura says–except that sadly I don’t have a cool dollhouse of my own. But I do love your website and your posts–your imagination and wit are an endless source of pleasure for me.
I’m sorry for your loss. When I had to put down one of my dogs, a good friend passed along a lovely children’s book called BADGER”S PARTING GIFTS by Susan Varley. I keep it always on my bookshelf.
